1. Information We Collect
Photos and Images
When you use FixSense, you choose to submit photos of broken or damaged items for repair analysis. These photos are transmitted to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) solely to generate your repair guide. We do not store your photos on our servers.
Optional Descriptions
You may optionally provide a text description of the problem with your item. Like your photos, this text is sent to the AI analysis service to improve the accuracy of your repair guide and is not stored by FixSense.
Usage Data
We collect limited usage data to operate the app, including:
- Number of repair analyses performed (stored locally on your device)
- Subscription status (managed by RevenueCat)
- App crash reports and basic diagnostics
No Account Required
FixSense does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or any personal identifying information to use the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Generate repair guides, step-by-step instructions, parts lists, and cost estimates based on your photos
- Find and suggest relevant video tutorial links for your repair
- Track your usage of free analyses (3 free before a subscription is required)
- Process subscription purchases and manage your account through RevenueCat
- Improve app performance and fix technical issues
We do not use your photos or descriptions for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than generating your repair guide.
3. Third-Party Services
FixSense relies on the following third-party services to operate:
Anthropic (Claude AI)
Your photos and optional descriptions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate repair guides. Anthropic processes this data according to their own privacy policy. Visit anthropic.com/privacy to learn more.
RevenueCat
Subscription purchases and management are handled by RevenueCat. RevenueCat may collect information necessary to process transactions. For more information, visit revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple App Store
In-app purchases are processed through Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs the collection and use of payment information. Visit apple.com/legal/privacy for details.
External Links (YouTube, Google, Reddit)
The Videos tab provides links to third-party platforms. When you tap these links, you leave FixSense and visit those platforms, which have their own privacy policies. FixSense is not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.
4. Data Storage and Retention
FixSense stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your repair history (stored on your device, not our servers)
- Your usage count for free analyses
- Your subscription status
We do not maintain servers that store your personal photos, repair history, or descriptions. This data lives on your device and can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the app.
5. Children's Privacy
FixSense is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
6. Your Rights
Because FixSense does not collect or store your personal information on our servers, there is limited data for us to provide, correct, or delete. However, you have the right to:
- Clear your local app data at any time by uninstalling the app
- Cancel your subscription at any time through App Store Settings on your device
- Request information about what data has been collected by contacting us
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Photos and descriptions are transmitted to Anthropic over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not store this data after your repair guide has been generated. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
